Anona let the hot water run down her face as she rubbed her eyes, trying to stop the tears. What the fram had she been thinking, accepting Ira Butler's offer? Now she had an almost total stranger living in her house! Was she an idiot??
She peeked out of the shower curtains to double-check that the bathroom door was locked. It was. She sighed and finished up. Her whole life was nuts. She didn't even feel like herself anymore - and she certainly wasn't making the kind of decisions the "old Anona" would have made!
Sure, the lack of money was beginning to panic her. It wasn't like she made a ton of Simoleons at her job. But that was no reason to take Ira's money or his offer.
It must be the note. That darn note had her tied in knots inside. If anyone ever found out...
Anona slammed off the water and stepped dripping out of the shower. She breathed in the steam and tried to clear her head.
