The Multi-House Modern

This exterior was highly inspired by the original plan I’d found online. I love the bright colours and the mixtures of wood types!

Other than windows from Peace’s Vaulted Ranch Set and the 3-tile archway in the base house house build, there is no other CC in this home. It’s on a tiny-weeney 20×15 lot so you can put it on any other size lot you would like. Do have MOO on when you place it.

Couple more pics for ya:

It’s on the Gallery under the title “The Multi-House Modern” and you can search the hash tags #ttw #multihouse or my username (WebbyMom). Be sure to enable the Includes Custom Content option! Enjoy. πŸ™‚

Victorian Multi-House

Number One in my series of external renovations – a cute little Victorian cottage!

(Just remember, nothing on the inside is changed from the Base house, this is an external renovation series only. πŸ˜‰ )

This house is worth Β§30,354 furnished. I’ve left most of the back yard only slightly landscaped so you can add what you need for your own sims. πŸ™‚ It’s on a 30×20 lot, so you can use as-is or place on a bigger lot to expand the yard and/or home.

Also, best to use the MOO cheat when placing, just to be sure. You can see what Pack items it uses on the Gallery listing.

And it’s on the Gallery now! Look for #ttw or #multihouse, my username (WebbyMom), or item name “Victorian Multi-House”. Be sure to tick on the Custom Content option!

Small Homes – Base Layout

All right, I came up with a base that I’ll use for all the homes I’m designing. As it turned out, I did put in a bit of interior furnishing just so you can see the “intended” room, um… intentions. πŸ˜€

From plan view to street view and then clock-wise around the exterior, here are the images of my base house.

I’ll upload this to the gallery eventually. I tried to use only Maxis stuff (I have all the crap except for Spooky Stuff and My First Pet Stuff), but the hall really needed a 3-square arch, so I will admit to using Peace’s “Vast Entry Frame” for that bit. If you don’t have it, you’ll just have to delete that bit of wall and VOILA! An opening to the tiny hall. πŸ˜‰

Not going to upload this right away, mind you. I’d rather have my own chance of doing up the exterior before releasing it to the masses to do their own thing with.

HOWEVER – if you feel the need to try this self-challenge yourself, then by all means, create your own preferred base layout and go for it! It would be so great to see what others do with this idea! Leave a comment and let me know what you think and/or if you are doing it as well!

Small Home Series Coming Up

OK, I had this inspiration today to do a series of builds with a sort of self-challenge and/or theme, whatever you like to call it. And there’s a back-story to the whole thing, of course. πŸ˜‰

That being that I was watching a bunch of tiny home videos yesterday, as I’m wont to do every so often. I find them so inspiring – so much you can do in small (or small-ish) places!

But no, this will not be a Sims Tiny Home series. πŸ˜›

It will be, however, a small home series. Probably not starters, since I don’t want to limit my creativity too much. πŸ˜‰ But I think I’ll build them on the 20×15 lots in Newcrest so that anyone who may want to use them can put them on any sized lot without troubles and expand as needed from there.

EDIT: Quickly decided that a 30×20 lot would be waaaay better, especially if I want to do an A-frame version. πŸ˜€

AND SO: Here’s the plan.

I’m going to build a two-bedroom home with a good, playable layout. Before I do any finishing on the inside or outside, I’ll save that base.

Then I’ll take that base and create a bunch of different house styles with it. So one home would be modern, one would be Victorian, one would be a cabin and one would be a Tudor home.

See where I’m going with this? Ha! Too much fun, right?

I will probably use CC, but I pretty much only use Peacemaker’s CC for building, so it shouldn’t be too hard to track down the stuff I use. I’ll be uploading them to the Gallery, of course, since packaging them is a HUGE pain when the Gallery is so easy. πŸ˜‰

I will post pictures and pertinent information here on my blog when I’ve completed one and uploaded it to the Gallery so you can find them. If you so choose. And if you don’t choose, no judgement here. πŸ˜€

Brandon Fallon and the Bedlington Boathouse

Another sim and house are currently underway in my Peace River save! Also, the first pet makes their way into the town. Meet Brandon Fallon and his dog, Beck.

Brandon is a single young adult. He moved to Brindleton Bay for the scenery – his passion is photography and he has set up his own studio in his home, hoping to run a business there one day. He’s a really pleasant kind of guy, makes friends fast, and wants to start a photography club with whoever is interested – once he settles in. πŸ˜‰

The home he purchased is Peace’s Bedlington BoathouseΒ and it’s placed just where the original is in Brindleton Bay. It looks just as traditional on the outside as the other homes in the Bay area, but Brandon prefers a more modern ambiance, so he has really re-done the interior to his liking.

There are a couple of rooms upstairs that will be left unfinished for now. Never know what life will bring, right?

I think any CC you see above will be by Peacemaker. I ended up replacing that CC dog bed with an in-game one as Beck wouldn’t lie down in it. Not sure what was up, but I’ll not link to it until I do more testing. πŸ˜‰

Plush Carpeting

I really need to stop making carpeting and move on to the rest of my Brindleton Bay homes and peeps! But I couldn’t – not until a truly basic carpet was back in my game.

I believe I have that carpet. * does happy dance *

I give you some basic plush carpeting. (Can “plush” ever truly be “basic”? Probably not.) In any case, it will be one of those basic ones I use in houses for years to come, I’m sure. Has some texture, looks like carpet, but if you get close, it’s kind of mushy. Not as mushy as Maxis carpets, but not quite as realistic as some can be. Which is what I go for when I make a carpet. πŸ˜‰ Hopefully you will agree that I achieved it. If you don’t, feel free to comment below! (I’m not easily offended by constructive criticism!)

Four little samples of the carpet in-game:

Bob Tierney’s Home

The Tierney family lives in Peace’s “Talison House”, placed near the lounge by the waterfront area of town. You should really go look at Peace’s presentation of it at the link above, because the first day of spring in my save is not doing the street view any favours, what with all the leaves missing off the trees and the framming snow flying about. LOL

As you can see, Gramps has indeed indulged Renee with her dreams for her room. Yes, an explosion of colour! After all, she is 10 years old. πŸ˜‰ And truth be told… This all happened one weekend when Bob and Vanessa were away in Granite Falls to gather rare herbs for Vanessa’s cooking. Yup. Ol’ Melvin kinda snuck in under their noses and Renee had the time of her life shopping for and re-doing her bedroom! And he had the time of his life spending more of his left-over money!

Bob had to bite his tongue for about a week. Vanessa was more quickly forgiving of her dad. Eventually, Bob came ’round to seeing that it was what made Melvin happy and it certainly had made his daughter’s eyes shine to show off her new “creation”. He did have coffee with Gramps early one morning and explain that too much indulgence wasn’t a good thing. Gramps agreed.

Then he went out and bought a fancy pink journal for Renee two days later.

Neither of them have said anything about it. πŸ˜‰

Most of the CC is Peacemaker’s. The parquet floors are by the lovely … whoops! … Can’t say, cuz she doesn’t have them up on her tumblr yet. πŸ˜› The carpet in the living room and master bedroom is my own and the carpet in Renee’s room is on MTS by mustluvcats.
